What is ABOTA?

The Seventh Amendment’s protection of the right to a jury trial in all civil cases was upheld by the establishment of the national organization known as ABOTA in 1958. Only trial lawyers and judges of the greatest caliber in the nation are members of ABOTA, and membership is by invitation only.

Requirements for admission into ABOTA

Lawyers must meet the highest requirements for integrity, civility, and professionalism in order to be nominated for admittance into this esteemed organization. They must also have successfully completed a predetermined number of civil jury trials. The National ABOTA Board, the local Executive Board, and the local ABOTA chapter vote on whether to admit a nominee.

Inclusion into ABOTA affirms its members’ status as some of the nation’s most well-known practitioners. All of the attorneys who are ABOTA members have distinguished themselves significantly in their trial work.

Attorney Vargas is proud of the designation

The inclusion of a group of trial lawyers and judges who are regarded as some of the best in the nation “humbles and profoundly honors me,” said Vargas. “The administration of justice in our judicial system depends on ABOTA’s aim to maintain and promote the right to a trial by jury.”

Fernando D. Vargas, who was admitted to practice law in 1987, is a very accomplished trial attorney. He graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law is where he obtained his Juris Doctor.

Vargas has received honors from Latino American Who’s Who, the World Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement, and the National Trial Lawyers Top 100. Lawyer Vargas handles motor vehicle, property, and dog bite injury accident claims. He has recovered sizeable settlements for his clients thanks to his strict work ethic, strong trial skills, and cleverly aggressive strategies.

“Being accepted to ABOTA is a special honor and privilege. I concur with the organizations’ primary principles of advancing and protecting a litigant’s right to a jury trial, said Vargas.
